Intensive #2 Starts Now

It’s been awhile! About 2 years to be exact. But we are finally back at NAPA for a 3 week intensive therapy. A lot has happened since our last intensive, so let me take a second to catch some of you up.

  1. We moved from NC to IL. Which worked out amazingly because NAPA opened their Chicago location last year! It was literally the universe saying this was meant to be.
  2. K had surgery to release his spinal cord from all the scar tissue from his initial surgery (back closure at birth).
  3. Kids finished their second year at their new school here and are both doing amazing.

K has been doing weekly therapies at this new location since October. So the start to this intensive has been much different than our last one. If you weren’t with us fro the last intensive you can go back a read all about that journey….because a journey it was.

Now that we live only 30 minutes away from NAPA we don’t have to travel far to get to his therapy. Which is amazing because not only can he do weekly therapies there, but we can come home every night after intensive. This has made the start to this intensive so much easier. K is familiar with this location and staff already. Not having to travel and stay in a hotel is amazing. Everything about the start to this intensive feels easy.

K did great on his first day, but I can tell this is going to test his stamina big time. After his surgery in December he has lost a lot of his endurance and strength. So 4 hours of therapy a day is going to push him. He handled it like a champ today and was very comfortable, but by hour 4 he was done. Not much to report other than we thrived today. Let’s hope he can keep this up.
