Intensive 2/Day 8

Ohhhhhhh we are half way there… (did you get the song reference?)

Today marks the official half way point of the intensive. We officially have less days left than have have pasted. This intensive has gone really fast. It’s probably because we are home, rather than staying in a hotel in the middle of winter.

Today was another strong day of work, despite the fatigue. I can tell how tired K really is because he is sleeping in more and slower to get going in the morning. Usually he is my kid who pops right up and is ready to go, but today he would have fathered just lay in bed and sleep.

He did really well today though. Even in his 3rd hour, which is always a struggle, he had his strongest day yet. She pushed him harder and he rose to the challenge. She even said he had his strongest day yet. K has really hit a good stride through this intensive. He is all around stronger and his confidence is growing. He even asked me the other day if he could get his own pair of forearm crutches to use instead of his walker!

This is huge for him as he usually just asks for his wheelchair to get around and has little interest in walking. His strength and stamina have increased so much. I also think seeing other kids walking with crutches helps motivate him. I am so excited to see where we go from here.

Taking a much needed break from the action.
